Dr. Gregory F. Randolph

Dr. Gregory F. Randolph is an Assistant Professor in the School of City and Regional Planning (SCaRP) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research examines how economies, labor markets and urbanization patterns are shaped by major 21st-century transitions—technological, climate, energy, and demographic—with an emphasis on issues of inequality. In addition to his academic research, Dr. Randolph works with both governmental and non-profit institutions in their efforts to create inclusive urban economies. He has served as a policy advisor to Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman and consults with multilateral organizations such as the World Bank on issues of sustainable development. A decade ago, he co-founded the Just Jobs Network, a non-profit institute based in New Delhi, India that advises governments on labor market policies.

Dr. Randolph obtained his PhD in urban planning and development from the University of Southern California and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. He is a recipient of the Fulbright-Hays and Fulbright-Nehru fellowships. His writings have been published in The Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, and his current book project is under contract with Oxford University Press.
